cracked during first use, but still usable

Alright, I've used these boards several times, But tonight they got a hard workout!! I drive a 9,000 lb F350 and went to my property up in the mountains, Temps hard warmed to about 50 deg with plenty of snow on the ground, I was also towing a 5,000 lb trailer,
After backing in and realizing it was a terrible idea, my truck basically sunk to the axles! After about 30 min of digging out mud I finally got the boards in place, Gave it a little bump backwards and then eased into the gas forward and it climbed right up on the boards and got me up,
Seriously this is no joke, Without these boards I would still be stuck on a dark mountain overnight,
Even though the boards are covered in mud and weigh 50 lbs a piece I looked them over and don't see any damage or bending! You can see in the first photo the board did exactly what it should, The second you can see the board is embedded with mud and did its job perfectly!!
Save yourself some money and get these boards!!! They do not disappoint and will save you an expensive recovery!!!

I havent used them and ideally I wont ever have to but glad I have them for winter.
Since I havent used them for their intended purpose during winter decided to run over one before putting them away for the year. Didnt break so thats all I can share.

Comes with case and mounting hardware if you want to mount on roof rack, I have a minivan so this is overkill for me, I got stuck once a few winters ago so I'm paranoid, Very heavy and large so not in vehicle now, Will put in trunk late fall, Really made for off road adventure,
Lance
The traction boards them selves are good quality, but I wish the mounting brackets it comes with were better quality, I guess you get what you pay for though, They should also make it so that you can some how lock the brackets so the no one can steal the traction boards,

Stuck in the sand dunes alone for work and pulled these out and had zero issue getting out.

Haven't used it but all the hardware and bag was included, Fits perfectly in the harbor freight Apache 9800 case, in case you need to save space on a roof rack,

Nice boards, I'm sure they'll come in handy when I need them.
I do wish there were better mounting options. The brackets are pretty cheap plastic and the holes don't really allow for mounting perpendicular on a roof rack. I'll have to fabricate something so they don't take up a ton of room in the back of my car.
George F.
These are every bit as good as anything out on the market and the price is right. Only question I have is what are the bolts for?
TB
I just got back from getting stuck in the snow in my truck and used these recovery boards to get myself out, I have used them several times-always in deep snow- to get myself and friends/co-workers unstuck, At this point mine are cracked and pieces missing, I have also melted the plastic at the ends from spinning tires on the boards, The directions are correct dont do that,,, Anyway although mine are broken they still work and I love them, My mom got them for me several years ago-might by another set soon, Thanks!

After digging a vehicle out of a snowy road, a set of recovery traction boards was an obvious purchase. These X-Bull Gen 3.0 tracks are a great size to fit in my van garage and the included bag makes a nice package.
Shelby Wellman
So far I'm somewhat impressed with the traction boards, The mounting system can definitely use an upgrade,
keplertwostars
Wish they fit into each other more to minimize storage space, How are bolts used for mounting? Look tough enough for the unfortunate time I or someone else gets stuck,
Alyson Kelley
Purchased these as a Christmas gift for my daughter who had asked for a much more expensive set, I figured for the price even if they worked once, they were worth it, She is very happy with them and the fact that I was able to get her more gifts because I saved money,
Mike Welch
Given I have a Crosstrek, I don't know how much I will need these traction boards, but recovery gear is always important to have handy,
Rather than pay the $300 for the top of the line, I went with these, because they will be doing light duty and they're blue,
They feel sturdy but also flexible, The included hardware was too large for my rack, but they mounted easily with some threaded rods and star handles,
In summation: good price, nice quality, and fun color options,
Steve
I had these for a year and never needed them, Then my daughter buried the diesel truck in THICK, heavy mud, It took some effort, but the recovery tracks did the job, Afterwards we notice the tracks had cracked (but not failed) during the recovery, An email to X-Bull with a photo of the cracks and they promptly sent a new set, Wonderful company and customer service!

What can I say, got me out of thick wet sand on the beach in the Outer Banks the first week I had them, So glad I bought them,
Snedds
Haven't had the chance to use them yet but I bought these just in case. We have a lot of snow and it doesn't hurt to carry these in the car in case I get stuck or someone else does.
TEN S.
Used them today to get my RWD car unstuck from slushy, muddy, muck. Worked as they were supposed to. What a relief when your "stuck" car rolls on out!!!
Domenick C.
Exactly as advertised. Great value and significant savings. It shipped to me in the USA in just a few days. 1 2 3 You Rock!

Great price for great product and fast shipping!

My son absolutely loved it!

So far so good, once they are used I will see.

Brought as a birthday present for my brother. He loved it!!

Love the recovery tracks.

Good customer service, fast shipping. Products is ok but I expected better quality. Not so flexible. But is ok
Brad G.
they look great, the quality is amazing

Great tracks. Just need a few more.
DeMarr Zimmerman
They were exactly what I expected them to be. It was easy to assemble on my track. I have no complaints whatsoever.
Kevin
I keep these boards on the roof rack of my Jeep Wrangler they are very durable and high quality also the customer service is excellent if you have any questions or concerns they are very quick and helpful .
julio a.
Love it, would buy again!!
Joanne A.
I bought this product to use should I get stuck in the sand when driving on the beach. The ramp seems sturdy and I was surprised to see it came with a storage bag to use, should you not have a way to mount the ramps to the side of your truck only time would tell if they were hold up during use.
Steve
It was a good thing I bought these boards or I would have been stuck for hours but thanks to the boards I was able to get out of the sand with my truck and trailer. They really worked
Vincenzo G.
The recovery tracks arrived quickly, the product seems to be well constructed and the bag is handy for storage. I only wish the fabrication was done in the US. I would have paid a premium to find a similar recovery track that was made in The States.
Raymond Gibbons
Stacked up easy and kept together easy. The bolt price needed tightening over time but held up. Very strong material and light weight. Used them 3 times at a family farms swamp area. Impressed everyone there. Got myself out and got a few younger cousins out too. AWESOME product! I'm definitely going to get 2 more soon to complete the 4 set. Also recommend getting some mounts to mount 2 on each side of your vehicle.
Richard the Exhaler
I'll never leave home without them. Got stuck near Joshua tree by myself without cell service. Helped me out of the sand and safely down the hill.
Decent price for what it does. No need to get the high end 3x the price boards unless you're a clout chaser.
KingDuck
I'm very happy with this product.
Ana Zoar Flores
The week I bought them, I had to use them on the weekend. They got me out of a bind easily. I am a believer now.

Having used my pair a few times now, in both snow and mud, I can say these are very good value if you aren't prepared to plop down three times the money for the top tier of traction boards, I've used these on my Wrangler JL, and on friends vehicles that have ranged from smaller (Renegade) to really large (Excursion), After around 10-12 significant uses, some of the traction nubs have worn off (due to the tire spinning on the traction board) right at the end of both boards, but it's just a few nubs, and the boards are still serviceable, For the money, I recommend them, a good budget option that for me while they've worn a bit on a few of the traction nubs, they have not broken/cracked so far, I've certainly caused at least one board to bend significantly under weight, temporarily transforming to the contour of the ground under weight, but they snapped right back afterwords just fine, Again, for the money, I'm impressed,
These just fit in the back of a JL wrangler 2 door, and I've appreciated the cloth case when I've had to put them away muddy,,,it all washed out of the case nicely the next day,
As for traction boards in general:
Traction boards are an easy self recovery option to try (and have on hand) if you plan on off roading your vehicle, and if you don't have a winch, these can be quite valuable out on the trail along with a shovel,
Jacob J.
Just bought, seems great. Will not fit victory 4x4 roof rack with supplied installation hardware. Will be ordering tslot bolts to make work.
Jeffrey Blanchard
Hopefully I never need them, but if I do, look forward to using them. Looks like great products for remote areas of primitive beach we drive out to.
Matt
We had to use these to get our giant diesel monster van out of sand and they kicked ass, at the time we only had 2, but they were so damn good we bought another pair since our van is heavy now we have 4. they have been tried and tested. Highly recommend
Richard
Good material the only bad thing is that they don't linde up inside the other causing them to look very raised but you pay for what you get I thought that paying more than 300 at the moment was absolutely unnecessary for something that is not going to be used as much. Maybe down the line I might get 300 hundred dollars ones for a better looking on the truck. Thanks!
Jordan Vanclef
I like my boards but wish I was able to get the light blue color ones over the dark blue since they are shown on the website but it is what is. They look good on my bedrack though!
Mrhockey
Wheter in snow or back country these babys perform like a champ.
Thomas Chacos
Very and they came with mounting hardware
Russell Bream
Quality is very well made. Can¡¯t wait to get to use them.
steve
Good quality. Haven¡¯t had to use them yet. However compared to some higher priced ones I¡¯ve owned they seem up to par
Keith Rice
Great recovery boards ??.
I have know idea what these pins fit...
I had to buy my own and customize proper fit.
Just buy the recovery boards no pins and save some money.
Jacob Carr
Love the olive dab color! No need to pay over $400 for crazy name brand traction boards. These are meant to use in a dire situation. Hopefully I¡¯ll not have to use them but for the price I can afford to replace them if I had to. I¡¯ve seen name brands up close and personal and honestly if you had these side by side you can¡¯t tell much of a difference. Awesome product xbull!
David Garza
They look great and sturdy the color matches my jeep can wait to put them to the test.
rachael epstein
Put them on the side of my van with some sections that are needed to be purchased with them. I purchased the suction separately. They looked pretty slick. And they¡¯re thick plastic, and appear to be very sturdy.
Cody
Have only got to use once so far but they held up in a sticky situation. Depending on where you mount you might need extra bolts and nuts to secure for better ride stability down the road.
Austin
Have these mounted in the back of my truck as well as a mini set in all our other vehicles. Great for snow, sand, and general off-roading or emergencies. Holding up well and definitely worth it over the more expensive versions, especially if you plan on seldomly using them.I encourage everyone to get a bright color as it's easier to see in the dirt, snow, mud and even at night.
Marty R. Belleville
No kidding, bought threes for a friend living in the sierras before Christmas of 2022. Within a month she was able to use those to help, her neighbor get out of a ditch as well as a few others to get out of snow banks. Large and sturdy and pack well into an included vinyl bag.
Alex
Our first trip to the beach driving on the sand, and we got stuck, spinning our tires (typical newbies), but popped these babies as far under the tires as we could and quickly were moving again! Lightweight, easy to use (even our kiddo could carry them)
H20Sun&Fun
At this price point, these boards are a great deal. I've used them a couple of times and they have held up well so far. They are terrific for getting yourself out of a jam. They were very easy to install on my aluminum gear box and make a great addition to my off road gear. Highly recommend!
Ryan
So I bought these back in 2020. Honestly, they¡¯ve lived in the shop for the last year or 2 as I got tired of carrying them around. Until today!! I was moving our bus around in the yard when I decided to drive across a soft ditch line¡. Yeah, not my smartest move.. however, enter the x-bull traction boards! I grabbed them from the shop, dug just enough to let the board get against the tire, got in, gave it some gas and it popped right out. Surprised me! I never really thought this was gonna work, but didn¡¯t want to have to go get the tractor, chains, and extra help to pull it out, so I gave it a try. It did warp the one it buried in the mud, but I honestly don¡¯t care. It saved me a ton of time/trouble and this bud weighs A LOT more than their rating. So I¡¯m ok with damaged boards at this point. Also note worthy, it did not break with a bus on it. Warped, yes. Broken/cracked, nope!
Jared
Great fit with mounting hardware and storage bag if not mountings
Greg F.
If you cannot afford the original ones buy these. They are good enough. I do recommend them if you have limited money. A+
Ryan King
Solid material, easy installation, great look. Definitely worth the money.
ElGooch
Haven¡¯t had to use em yet. Feel sturdy. Heavy thick plastic. This store actually sent me the correct color I ordered so 5 star for reading the invoice and sending what I ordered.
Jacob Cave
I got these about a year and a half ago and had to use them for the first time last week. Had to drive a 20,000lbs forklift on them after it got stuck in the dirt. They worked extremely well. It did Crack them but as an injection molding and working in the plastic industry for 17 years I was very satisfied with theses! Would recommend all day!
Alvaro DeHoyos
Great product Well made will fit all my outdoor products that I have for my Toyota Tacoma my door, outdoor adventure will be more fulfilling and safer with your product. Thank you will be buying more products from you.
wilman
They are thick which helps them maintain their shape underload. I haven't personally used them with my SUV but I've helped out two cars get out of the sand with no problems. They didn't really flex at all but I'm guessing with the weight of my Escalade they might bow out more or crack which isn't really a problem if it gets you unstuck. As you can see in the picture they don't sit as flush together as the MAXTRAXs. The military color is similar to the picture and they haven't faded after 2 years on the roof.
ROBERT SANTILLANA
I bought these to use with the 1998 TJ we use as a towed for our RV. As an astrophotographer. I'm out chasing star photos at all hours of the night. Not a time when you want to be stuck. I am very pleased with the quality of these boards. They compare well with the Smittybuilt and Rhino boards I've seen. The carrying case they come with is nice and actually has enough room to also hold my trail axe. Another perk is they come with the mounting hardware. Most of the other sellers have this as an add on. Once I placed the order for the boards, communication from the company was great. Shipping was very quick too! While I haven't needed to use them yet, I have peace of mind knowing I am prepared. I would recommend them highly.
JesQ
We used these to assist a van that got stuck in soft sand. These held up well and the occupants of that van were so amazed at how well these worked that they asked where I purchased them from. Of course, I recommended this brand!
Kevin Nicol
I bought 4 sets. Two for our vehicles and 2 for my sons. The boards look well made and feel good. Winter is 1/2 over and haven't had to use them. For the price it is just a good feeling to have them if needed. They shipped / arrived fast. A small issue was they came with the wrong size storage bag. Contacted customer service and they were quick to fix the issue and new bags arrived promptly with no issue, so great customer service. So for the price and peace of mind, I'll go 5 stars.

Love the tracks but the carrying bag they sent me was too small and they're very hard to get ahold of
kassidy sturn
Bought them 2 years ago and they've been in the back of my car since then waiting to finally get stuck enough to need them. Got a call a few days ago that my buddy got 2 trucks stuck, drove out the snow and mud covered rutted road 14 miles to them with 2 other vehicles. We got one truck unstuck with the boards, my buddy's rescue truck got unstuck 3 times with the boards and my car got unstuck 4 times with the boards (unfortunately the one truck was just too high centered for the birds to do anything). The boards are rougher in condition now (cracks and chips) but still in more than usable condition and they will absolutely be going back in my car after they get hosed down
KB
This is the second snow season for me with the tracks. I have rescued at least 3 cars and one 2wd truck that was stuck in snow with them. They are amazing and a huge time saver. One of the tracks has developed a crack in it so I will see how much more time I can get out of them.
Triple R Motorsports
Mounted right to my rack. Very well made. Quality product. Even came with a carry case. Perfect for my overland build. Got them as a Christmas Present.
Nicholas Conroy
These traction boards are fantastic! I was able to mount these boards to my roof rack very easily and just as I got them, a snow storm moved in and I used them 4 times on other vehicles within 3 days! They worked and held up very well. I plan on buying another pair as it definitely helps to have 4 total.
Ryan Muraco
This is a great product!!! It snowed really bad where I live for the past few days. The tracks came in handy to help get other people who were stuck, unstuck.
Ryan Deming
worked perfectly. Would like an option for a longer set for my truck.
Mitchell DeLong
Save your money and get these! They aren¡¯t ¡°mazztraxs¡± branded but they get the my get the job done just the same!
Glenn Gaither
Well priced, very heavy duty and fast shipping ... cant ask for more than that
Darin Denton
These are nice looking recovery tracks. I did a little research and with them on sale I believe I got a really good product for the money. Shipping was quick and everything came nicely packaged.
B. Kush
I¡¯ve used these in a number of occasions and never had any issues with cracking.
Unfortunately, they will fade. I put my racks on my roof mid 2020 and have had them on nearly every day till Dec 2022.
The photo shows the fade that will occur in about 2 years continuously on the roof.
This is an aesthetic flaw and not a functionality flaw but it¡¯s worth considering. I¡¯m just lazy and keep my racks on the roof 24/7.
Other than that, can¡¯t complain. Cheers.
David Roberts
I¡¯ve been waiting to purchase some traction boards all year and was deciding between X-Bull or Max Trax. X-Bill at $59 vs $350 for Max Trax was a no brained decision. Great quality without being overpriced!!!
Tataia
Great product, used it multiple times without any issues. After melting a pair of Maxtraxx I got these and they do the job at a fraction of the price!
Langerfam
Have not had to use them yet. Just knowing they are onboard and available is nice.
Theodore Carbone
Excellent, solid, well built. Amazingly fast shipping !!
Metal_Tacoma
These are good for the price and I really like they came with the mounting pins. Like all recovery board make sure you use them correctly, Even the high dollar ones will fail and break if not. They have held up to my tacomas weight over the past season of trails. I have used them a lot to level my truck at camp for my roof top tent and once for a recovery of a friend's truck with no damage to the boards. Just have to remember not to let tires spin on any of these things, that's when you get heat that will cause them to melt or break. I would definitely buy these again for the price as they are definitely a good buy.
Martin Echeverria
excellent price high quality product and I received it very quickly
Brian Solomon
Ok, I was looking for a set of traction boards for a long time and just never wanted to spend 300.00. I looked at the x-bull reviews and the videos several times. I watched the comparison videos as well and I will have to say the Maxtraxx are the shit but who has 300.00 to hang on their rig. I got my x-bulls and love them for the price and the need they are great and how can you beat the price at ? off? I will be taking them on all my runs and will have to report back once I have a need to use them. But until I do, I am glad to have them as part of my recovery kit.
